I drive pretty much like Grandma and bounce from 16-16.4. Mileage peaked @ 17 around 3250 miles and has been subsiding from there.

As to the OP, my trip B has around 4000 miles and the average is 14.5mpg.

When I fill her up to the brim, the DTE meter reads around 360 miles and has never been over 380.

I've gotten to the point where I don't even want to look at the MPG anymore 'cause it just brings me down. Having the instant mileage display really takes the joy out of driving the thing. No longer will I participate in EB MPG threads/discussions, I'm just going to drive and put gas in as needed. I'm feeling my blood pressure drop already

Word!

Although im quite content with my MPG's after only 700 miles the instant fuel economy thingy has worn itself out on me. I used to try and feather and fiddle with my driving to get the best MPG's, and it has improved for sure.

However, I could probably floor it from every red light and still get better gas mileage than my old POS 4.6L ever would.

My life time average is 17.4 which may be less since I pulled a trailer for about 4 hours doing 75mph getting 15mpg.(Small trailer but big gate)

Truck unloaded pretty much gets 18-19 running 70 or 75 and if running 60-65 range will get in the 20's. Running around town I can get 19 fairly easy but 20 if I don't catch every light. Ran ethanol free gas and managed to get 21mpg which was a 1mpg gain and the normal... Only problem was it cost 40c more a gallon.

What more can you ask out of a truck with this much power... I'm loving it.

first fill up sense new on 10/22/11.
XLT SCREW 4X4 3:55 LSD
Odometer 387.1
Trip 291.1
LOM 14.3 mpg
Actual 13.863 mpg
almost all around town mileage very little highway. Hope for long highway haul soon.

Hard to keep foot out of the gas.

Over the weekend trip from Buffalo, NY to Saginaw, MI used two tanks of regular unleaded plus approx 1/4 that I have not filled up yet.

Results tank one
427.4 miles and 23.424 gallons = 18.262 mpg
max speed hit on GPS 80+ avg speed moving 71.4 mph

tank two
423.5 miles and 24.325 gallons = 17.410 mpg
max speed hit on GPS 80+ avg moving 70.6 mph

LOM was within .2 mpg both times

Power seems to have increased at just over 1250 miles on the truck.

Current LOM reading is at 19.4 mpg. some around town driving included.

Still better than the two 5.4 V-8 I had. And more power.

Right here is really key! I have had many ask me in passing what the truck gets for MPG. I tell them, and of course they had a X brand truck that got X MPG.......it doesn't really compare.

All I know, is that my 5.4L averaged 11-12mpg when I (read I drove it), my average with this truck is 16.5mpg....................that is a LOT better. Now 16.5mpg may not be something to write home about for some, but for me, coming from trucks that NEVER EVER got over an average of 11-12mpg, 17 on the highway was a stretch, and put ANYTHING behind it would only get 13mpg on the highway, I am incredibely happy with how this truck performs overall. I have knocked down 19mpg easy, all day long with this setup, and that is 75-80mph with varying terrain.

I am tickled pink with these results. For people buying these hoping to get 20mpg @80mph is just not realistic (I am referring to 4x4 trim levels). The engine doesn't change the physics that these trucks are heavy, not the most aerodynamic, and will consume X amount of fuel to travel X speed!
