4x4 SCREW
157"WB
3.55 18" wheels, stock tires
22,000 miles
Exactly 50/50 city/hwy
18.5mpg

Since I haven't reset it this includes towing my small bass boat most of the summer. My highest ever hand calculated tank was 24.7mpg. That was driving from Idaho Falls, through Swan Valley, Alpine, and Jackson into Yellowstone. Drove around the west thumb of Yellowstone all day. Trip A stated that I had gone 600 miles and DTE also read over 600 on the next fill up. I was quite scared as I was not going to be buying fuel in Yellowstone $$$. Filled up again in Jackson. Worst tank ever was driving across North Dakota @15.7mpg. I chalked it up to the Ethanol in the gas. They claimed 10% but it was probably higher.

Mine says 16.8MPG.... ( Which is close to the 17mpg rating Ford gave my truck)

I know people are facinated with the Milage of these Ecoboost Trucks. The truth is that they get more or less what Ford says they will get in real world normal conditions. While you can get 20+MPG, it ONLY occurs on a completely flat road running no more than 60mph and no stops or traffice to slow you down.....

That is IT......

The people that claim that they get 20+MPG going 75-80mph or in city driving are NOT being 100% truthful about how they arrive at the unusually high MPG numbers....

The trucks weigh in around 6000LB... Do you really think they will get the gas mileage of a compact car????

Default The real dope

"sranger" has it right---at least from my experience with my 4x4 Eco --screw (355 ratio). Have never believed the high mileage claims--at least not on the 4x4s. Under perfect conditions---you can get 20-21 on the highway if you keep it under 65 and are not bucking a headwind. Those folks that claim mid-twenties at interstate speeds (in a 4x4) are full of it ---imo---and everybody's I have personally spoken with who has the E-boost where I live. These trucks are made identically from top to bottom on the factory line. Overall----they will get very close to the same mileage from truck to truck---assuming similar driving conditions and depending on driver habits. These are good trucks with power plus----but the mileage hope was a little overhyped.
