Default K&N or Airaid cone filters on 5.0

just wondering if anyone has any hard facts on K&N, Airaid Synthamax, or AFE and others on which actually fiters the best. I know the OEM paper is suppose to be the best Ive read articles about that. I have the K&N 63 series on my 2012 5.0. My filter is one that you oil by K&N. I bought it to install my engine cover and it performs well. I have found cone style airaid filters that will fit just a little difference in overall size. I may switch my K&N if it would be beneficial. If anyone has any experience with these or some facts since there seems to be more advanced type filters " so claimed" out now. I will keep my filter cleaned and properly oiled for sure. There are dry and oiled, I wouldnt mind having a dry filter. Any thoughts, thanks in advance.

I have the Airaid JR kit and love it. Looks stock and sounds great! And works with the mustang intake cover.

Hey Wayne,
I was wondering how you were coming with that cover. I posted a reply on your Jr kit install. I may have installed that one if I would have took more time researching CAI's. The k&N works great though I must say, i was just wondering if the air aid filters are better as far as filtering goes with performance. A few guys have asked me about my engine cover install and i have posted some info and video clips on this forum and f150online. So far my setup is working just fine. One guy said he was going to look into the mustang hoses and i told him to watch you that you were pretty sharp.

check out volant powercore, there's has been used in military applications. It has a Donaldson filter which is used in most large equipment in extreme conditions. However, it might not flow any better than a stock filter but should clean with the best of them.
