Both Mikes do good tunes but I really like how my truck runs with the tune Mike @ MPT put together for me.

I wasn't happy with MPT.

Unleashed, SoCal or Livernois are your best bet in my opinion. The plus with Unleashed and SoCal is that you can have both if you go with them since they and many others use SCT.

The difference there being 5.0 and EcoBoost. Has anybody had unleashed tune a 5.0? Has SoCal tuned one?

Eco tuners might have more knowledge with turbos than with 5.0s! What other tuners have trucks like jlp at the track and on the dyno seeing real world results? If I get low 13s on the motor as it sits right now Iam happy.

I had an unleashed tune in my 5.0. It was a 91 and 5* was faster both 0-60 and the butt dyno. Now Torrie at Unleashed is great to work with, and I know we could fine tune his to get it better. I just don't feel like doing that right now.
Only reason I'm not using the 5* is I'm past the 6 months free retuning and don't want to pay to get some more fine tuning done. The 5* has too much of a touchy throttle in the 1st to 2nd gear shift for me. If you want more details PM me.

I understand that about the 5*. My wife has been driving the truck lately and I've left it in the 87eco which has none of that. But over the weekend I was using the 91 race tune and forgot to switch back or let her know. She asked me last night why it kept scratching the tires in 2nd and I guess she roasted the tires leaving her work without really trying to. I found it humorous, she did not.

It's almost like he should just lock out 1st and have the truck start in 2nd, because it revs up so fast.

Ahhhhh yes, missed the boat on that one. Can't speak to tunes for the 5.0.

Good luck, man!

How much slower was it? And I have heard that in general e85 tune is slower than 91 octane tune.

I've reviewed them a few times in greater length but that's the short version.
I have a JLP race tune and I agree with you 100%, it has REALLY aggressive shift firmness and it KILLS my mpg. My tune feels strong though, I can't complain about the power. I will be installing my Boss 302 intake and get a tune from MPT so we will see what the end result will be
