U may be feeling air turbulence in the tube ? Air travels down a tube much like water going down a drain. Any change to that circle messes with its air flow characteristics. Noise, hammering etc. happen worse than the simple circular tube without sharp bends or bends at all.

I opted for the ROUSH air intake system. *Post-installation pic'. Have since replaced airbox with OEM and the UPR oil catch can has been relocated to in-front of the header panel.

Im on the fence about buying airaid cold air intake package and the SCT livewire from 5 star tuning.

Is the cold air intake worth the extra money? Or should i just buy the tuner and not the CAI?

No. Unless you can justify it for the sound and/or engine bay cosmetics.
