Do any companies make a intake tube that goes from the factory throttle body to the factory air box that replaces the jumbled/warted up tube that filters, silences, optimizes, slices dices and all other things it supposed to do?
I have the Mustang factory intake cover that I'm going to mod to fit the 5.0 in my truck, I have a number of hoses to reroute and the factory air tube looks terrible.
I'd just like a smooth pipe from point a to point b.
I've seen all of the AFE, roush, k&n etc that is out there.
None of them really produce and real hp gain, and I want to drive my truck, so, oiling my filter and worrying about rain going in my cool open top filter housing are not really an option.

RCSB 5.0 stx race red 2wd, it needs to have the nice engine bay, where was Ford on the under hood appearance of the 5.0 truck??...

Any help would be appreciated, so Thanx in advance.
Try outerwear cover, they are waterproof

I bought just the airaid tube because when they 1st released their kit it was just an airbox and filter. Got the tube when they released it. Thought it was pricey, but it looks nice and they claim the tube is helps just as much or more than the filter and box.

I managed to swing a tube shipped free from Airaid for $155.
Should be here within a week.

I'll let you know on noise and such when I get it on.

Hey did u manage to get ur jr intake tube installed yet? I'm wondering if this kit would be a decent one to pick up well keeping the stock air box. Did it make any more engine noise like an open air box intake kit does?

The Airaid Jr kit changes the tube but leaves the factory throttle body and factory air box. It's exactly what your looking for. I have one and love it, cleans up under the hood a lot. It's a lot louder than stock, so much louder I removed the Airaid filter and replaced it back with a Motorcraft filter to quite it down. The only reason I bought it was because it seams that the mustang intake cover will fit without trimming at all. MPG and Power wasn't a noticeable gain at all.

It was so loud it caused a vibration in the gas petal. Myself and a good friend both bought the Jr kit and we both went back to stock filter cause of the noise and vibration. Even while cruising it was make noise and vibration. With the factory filter it's still a little louder than stock but without the vibration. Wayne

Ohh wow the filter alone does that vibration noise hey. I was running a AFe stage 2 intake for a bit and I had the same vibration noise with it. I didn't replace the filter as at the time I wasent sure what was causing it. Iv since gone back to stock but I do have a drop in AFe filter now so maybe with this jr kit ill just keep that and use the tube. Ill be throwing a new SSi tune on the truck too once I buy the intake. Thanks again for the info

I have a high flow dry afe drop in filter and I always wondered who would have just a tube for sale.. I never liked an open filter let alone the oiled crap filters.. But does everyone see this vibration and noise..I had a CAI on my old 5.4 and it was louder but never was annoying or vibrated anything..so I definitely don't want something that will look better but feel like crap
