you already have a cold air intake, dude. the factory airbox pulls from the driver side front wheel well. a cold air intake will surely outflow the factory airbox, but it's likely that the factory airbox already outflows the engine.

my bro had one on his truck, and it was just a cold air noisemaker. it sounds nasty when the gas is punched, but it really didnt do much else

I'll agree with you on the fact that the stock air intake out flows the engine and for most trucks CAI do not do much; however, on this 3.7L v6 the CAI's help significantly with low end torque. A more open box and intake allow the engine to get more air easier at lower RPM's. Some of us didn't want the 5.0 v8 or couldn't afford it so we are trying to get the best results out of what we have.

if the stock airbox already outflows the engine, what good will a CAI do?

the engine sucks much more air at high RPMs, and even then, the stock airbox is fine. replacing the airbox with a CAI wont help anything but KNs cash flows
