I really don't know that much about the Lemon Law, but I'm not sure if it applies here. I've had one issue and took it to the dealer. As soon as they could diagnose the problem they got it in the shop to fix. Time will tell, but I really hope this is the end, not the beginning.

Shortblock is here and ready to be installed. My mechanic at the dealership is really doing a great job. I really appreciate his attention to detail.

Damn that is beautiful.

My 5.0 appears to have a slight case of piston slapping going on as it will tap tap tap until the engine warms up. At this time, I am not terribly concerned but how loud was your noise? My understanding from the old GM LS1/SVT Lightning days is that light piston slapping usually doesn't do much of anything.

Mine was loud enough that when the mechanic first heard it, he said, " oh, that ain't good". Another mechanic walking by said, " that sounds horrible". One way to look at it is this, would you buy a truck that sounded that way? The answer for me was NO! Once warmed up it didn't make any knocking sounds at all, but until then, I was embarrassed for someone to here it. The drive-thru at the bank was the first place I noticed it.

Wow you did have it bad. Mine is slightly noticeable, but only if you are listening for it. The first place I noticed it was at the McDonalds drivethrough on a -5 morning on my way to work in rural Alaska. It goes away quickly when it warms up. At this stage, I am not worrying about it but am keeping on eye on it. I will be getting the 100k mile ESP anyway.

This is the start of week three and my truck is still in the shop. I do expect it to be done in the next couple of days though. I really miss my truck, they gave me a 2013 Chevy Silverado to drive and I hate it! Ford built twice the truck that Chevy put out. Its uncomfortable and I really don't like the way the motor and tranny function. The only way I would be satisfied with a Chevy truck is if I had never driven a Ford, and I owned a 1998 Chevy truck for about 7 years and really liked it.

Was the tapping a single spaced out tap...tap...tap or was it more of a small cluster of tapping like tap tap tap...tap tap tap?

Hard to ask in a post lol. Mine when its cold out side has this odd tapping sound until it warms up. But its not just a single tap tap tap tap. It seems like it taps 3 times then 4 times. it makes me think its like some sort of valve tapping. Not sure...I noticed it after a oil change...then it seemed to get better after I went back to another place to get another one shortly after. I thought maybe they had the wrong kind in there.

Mine was pretty easy to tell that it wasn't valve tapping. It was definitely more of a knocking sound, from the block area.
