I don't get all this catch can stuff

If the engine was not DI I would not have thought about a catch can for a second. To me it does make sense that the oil and gunk going into the intake could gum up the valves without fuel to wash it off. Fuel companies add additives to wash the valves so I'm sure there is some basis for it. My PVC lines had lots of oil in them when I took it apart to change the can. Would have my valves coked up... I don't know... but for $300 why not.
I know on Kawasaki Ultra engines they use a separator to remove the oil from entering the intake, but they also have a line running from the bottom of the separator to the oil pan. Those engines due have a fuel dilution problem and are FI. Obviously the manufacture put the separator on the engine to solve a forseen problem with oil in the intake.....and those engines make 310 hp on a 1.5L.

If u smell gasoline in the oil ask ur dealer to install a dual valve Rx can or UPR. They will get rid of the bad stuff. Or dont.

Hopefully Ford fixed the stupid top fed intercooler layout on the 2015....... That is what causes the pooling in the IC, although it's just a typical FI issue, every IC I have ever seen has at least a coating of slime in it.

With what I said about believing that it could coke up the valves, I think it will take a lot longer than what people think. I wouldn't doubt it if most trucks didn't seen an issue until they are well into the 150+k mile range. If at all. Most people will have traded in their truck by then.
Again, I have no training or education on engines, just what I have done out of my garage (couple engine swaps and rebuilds) so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Possibly purchasers of trade in EB's in the future may look see for a Rx or UPR dual valve on them. Or idles rough pass on it.
