The efficiencies of the Ecoboost are going to be most obvious under low horsepower usage situations. Careful driving WILL return better fuel mileage. My Eco is consistently 10% more fuel efficient than my previous 5.4. The 2 trucks are nearly identical, FX4's with 3.73's.

Under higher horsepower situations, like towing a large RV trailer, the savings of the Eco are largely going to be overwhelmed.

These guys use a tonneau and are hypermiling nerds. Should lay to rest whether tonneaus increase MPG or not.

460-500 for me. On its best day, my 2003 Tundra 4.7 V8 got 17. On its best day my EB gets 22 on the same trip.

I did some "hypermiling" for fun on my trip to Austin and back to SA with some driving around Austin downtown and my entire trip was 24.9MPG. Neutral coasting seems to help somewhat. Was carrying a box full of swimming and park goodies + my toolbox, and 4 people including my giant 330lb ***!

Small sample, one trip, I know. But I did it and there's the results.

I know old post, but I regularly see 600+ after a fill-up (36 gallon tank). Another thing I've noticed is I always get more miles per tank then the "miles till empty" and better fuel economy then what the what the computers "Average MPG" claims
