I am guessing that you do not have a 5.0 and have never towed with one. They do just fine, they do not struggle. Yeah, less low end torque than the EB, big f'in deal, everything else has less too...that does not mean it struggles. Stop with the BS.

For over 60 years the big three have been doing the same thing Ford is doing with the 5.0. Same engine, different performance profiles for car/truck applications. The engine doesn't care what hood it's under.

I want to know where the 600 hp figure came from. That'd be 2 hp/ci, or about the same as a 13/1 compression 15,000 rpm sport bike motor.

I did some quick Googling and didn't find anything. I agree with mechanicboy, I think about 430.

I can't speak to the car referenced in the OP, but ~600bhp n/a is possible - already been done.

Well that car didn't make 600 crank hp in that run (about 565 based on loses from baseline which is still nice), the hertz car does not have of those mods (except the axle-back exhaust).

I should have done more looking but all we did was look for specs on web. My son in law had rented the car so we wanted to see specs. Those numbers are what came up for that. Just wondering why so hard to get higher tq/hp numbers out of the 150 5.0.

Quick Reply: HP/Tq numbers 5.0
