I thought I had taken great care of my Ecoboost. I respected her and what she had to offer in the "low end" but it just wasn't working out. She became real stubborn ( like my ex) and we parted ways.

Haha well I already own the tuner from my 5.4 I should be able to just buy new tunes for it. I plan to eventually do a ic upgrade and if I could keep a catch can from freezing I'd probably do that to. The second I have problem with it I will do a catch can though.

Think you can run plumbers tape around the can and plug the it in at night when it's freezing out?

I would personally be very wary about throwing a tuner on a brand new truck. I know a lot of guys on here do, but be forewarned that if your engine does have any sort of trouble, Ford will be quick to void your warranty because of the tuner.

In any case, I talked to two different dealer service managers today about the EcoBoost here in Colorado. Neither had seen any of the major forum problems I mentioned to him. One had seen a blown engine where the rod went through the block, but the engine had less than 500 miles on it. Otherwise, neither claims to have seen any blown EB engines in 3 years. Nor had either of them seen the fuel/oil issue. The manager at the large dealership in Denver (they've sold thousands of EB's and have 300+ trucks on the lot at any given time) told me that the EcoBoost is his top engine for reliability among all of the current Ford truck engine options.

You make me feel better haha I'll keep a tune off of it should be pretty decent coming from my truck. How do I know if the tsbs have been done or should they been done already? I can't believe one dealer has 300 trucks on a lot I guess I come from a small town haha the place I bought my truck had 12 trucks total on the lot I couldn't imagine that many. Must take a long time to find a truck but I bet you get all sorts of options at a place like that. I can't wait to cruise home in the eb in two days. Gotta take a rental car so they can switch my tires tomorrow. I might try and see if they'll let me swap my bed liner over.

Make sure you run her hard while breaking her in. I like to bring here up to temperature by doing some pulls up to 4,000 rpm and then letting the engine breaking slow me down. Do this over 4 heat/cool cycles for the best results. Then just enjoy the truck and work her hard.

I would not do any pro-active TSB's. Just drive for a while and see if you need any done. I myself have not and the truck is fine...

Drive it and do schedule maintance. Don't listen to 99% of the problems reported on this forum. The ones reported here are a very small % of trucks sold. Don't do any mods that can void your warranty...

33k on my 2012 and the engine is a beast period...

mine did misfire 1x on a foggy damp am the day after riding all day in a heavy rain (convinced it was condensation build up) when I really had her pegged to the floor...the limp mode saved the engine IMHO. Has not happened again and I LOVE my ride...

service - since I have 50k in this truck she has only been dealer serviced and will saty that way until warr runs out...

I'm sure we only see the bad problems because people don't complain about the good ones so it's hard to get a feel for it. I'll run her hard I love the sound of the turbos I think I'll get the extended warranty just for the piece of mind basically
