Anyway, I am having a bad hesitation fairly regularly when I do quick or rolling stops. I will push the throttle to accelerate again and it just falls on its face. I am not sure if it is something in/linked to the transmission shifting between 2nd and 1st or purely engine. It doesn't feel like a missfire. It just like the throttle does nothing for a second or two.

I have brought it up at the dealer, but on a test drive we couldn't duplicate it. I have also reset the throttle by doing the key/throttle cycling.

Has anyone else noticed this and know what the solution is or if it is another "characteristic"?

Thank you.

Hi 07SCrew, StanF, Aj06bolt12r, and Kenferg1,

How many miles do your rigs have on them? I'll see how I can help them get the spring back in their steps.

This is normal, it's Fords terrible drive by wire system. My 13 fx4 eco does the exact same thing. Ford has by far the worst drive by wire I have ever driven. Not sure if this is only the f150 ecoboost or all Ford trucks. My truck has done this from day one and I'm at 17k miles right now. It's my understanding a tune will fix this and it's a damn shame to have a 40k dollar truck that does this. There is an obvious disconnect between the pedal input and throttle plate opening. It's my belief this is to reduce wear and tear on the drive train. Don't want to tune mine bc it's under warranty so I'm stuck with it for a while. A quick rolling stop will do it and it seems to do it more often when the truck isn't completely warmed up. Basically you'll have to change the way you drive and that won't fix the problem but it will reduce the frequency of it. It always gets me when I'm in a hurry.

Hi StanF, 07SCrew, and cecoboost,

I recommend scheduling an appointment with your dealerships if you haven't done so. Please send a PM with your full name, best contact number, VIN, and dealership information; I'll loop in your regional customer service manager to assist you and your dealerships with that hesitation.

I'm glad my truck has been tuned since 1000 miles. Drive By Wire lag sucks. What ever happened to "good old" throttle cables?

Sad thing is most vehicles are drive by wire now and I'm telling you my truck is the WORST one I've ever driven. We've owned multiple DBW vehicles and I've driven others and Ford is by far the worst one. Sad thing is if a tuner can fix it Ford could if they wanted to. I'd pay good money to go back to the good old throttle cable.

I would agree, fully. My problem is it seems to be inconsistent in how it will respond. For example, I never noticed this in my 2009 Ram. Yes, it had DBW and uber torque management, but it behaved the same every time I hit the pedal.
