Default help with ecoboost shudder on 2012

Ive been using the search feature but most threads appear to be bloated with arguments about catch-cans, drilling condensate drain holes etc...

I have codes for multiple cylinder misfire and #6 (i got the flashing CEL and loss of power on a road trip yesterday).

the dealership is pulling up TSB 13-8-1, according to this they will remove the factory installed shield on the top of the intercooler, install the lower intercooler blockoff sticker and reflash the pcm (im not throwing codes for the cats). Is the correct TSB or is there a different one?

Ive seen some people talk about getting an upgraded intercooler, Im assuming its the part ending in AE, mine is AD. Are they not changing out intercoolers anymore? Does the stupid block off sticker work? Trying to decide if I want them to mess with it or just wipe the codes and move on with life

That is the correct TSB. I just had it done on my truck after I experienced the power loss and studder upon acceleration.

I would advise you reading this thread: https://www.f150forum.com/f70/ecoboo...s-here-223824/

I removed the lower blocker plate as it restricts the intercooler (thus lowering its efficiency) and I drilled the hole.

Thanks, I'll look through it.

I had read through a lot of that thread before once I clicked the link...

Im going to take em the truck and let em look it over, do the TSB for now. Once the rest of my warranty is up I will likely be drilling a drip hole

Sure. I'm still under warranty but I drilled the hole. Id rather explain it to the dealership if they see the hole than have all that crud make it to the motor.
