I've had this exhaust on my truck since Aug 5th. over 1000 miles on it. Once it starts to break in the sound is nice. Noticing good fuel mileage, but also want to put my foot into it for the sound of the turbo while driving next to people.

oxwhite11 how much of a difference did u feel on acceleration? My estimate shipped date is from 9/19-9/28 so that sucks but it fine because my Injen intake gets here tomorrow

Subscribing. 40 rwhp does seem rather large for a cat-back. I've seen similar gains before, but always with race stuff switching away from FlowMaster. On a stock setup, it would be a surprising gain. But, at least Heartthrob is consistent on their claims...

One time, I decided to drop the exhaust on my turbo LTx before going to the track. I had been running around 21 psi boost. On my first pass, I blew both head gaskets before the eight mile because it was boosting to the moon. The removal of turbine backpressure allowed it to boost too high. However, the F150 boost is computer controlled, so I'd be surprised if an exhaust made a difference with boost. Though, if the boost control is not feedback, it may make a difference. Perhaps that's where all the power is coming from.

Well it was posted by Nick@fastlane that they had an aftermarket downpipe and the rest of the exhaust was factory stock and they got the 90whp. So using heartthrob math, the catback should add another 40whp for a grand total of 130whp from full exhaust and tune. Of course I'm joking. Ford must have found a way to have the most restrictive flow through exhaust on earth. I'm still of the mindset that a catback is primarily meant for sound not a 12% gain in total power.

Engineermike I think what u experienced in ur car was boost surge. Boost surge happens when exhaust can't be expelled quickly enough through the wastegate thus having it to go thru the exhaust turbine making it to overboost. The ecoboost controls boost using a boost solenoid which can't prevent boost surge, only a bigger wastegate opening or closing the throttle

The wastegate was big enough. Removing pressure downstream of the turbine causes the pressure ratio to increase, thereby increasing turbine power and boost. Unless you have a feedback controller, the boost will rise. I fixed the head gaskets and reduced the boost by turning a ****.

Just got my intake today and surprisingly i also received my exhaust
I installed both a while ago. i love the intake ,turbos are twice as loud. Its weird that the exhaust isn't as loud but pretty silent, which is good. I feel a better mid range torque at partial throttle. The truck does peel out a bit more than when it was stock. Overall I love the difference in the truck. I will take my truck to the track in the coming weeks and see the if I hit a better time than 15.0
