Has anyone put true duals on a 5.0 liter?
I talked to an exhaust shop about putting true duals on my KR that is in route. He said it would "VOID THE WARRANTY"!!!
I told him I didn't give a rat's *** about the warranty. But he also said he coulld only do a SI/DO due to the variable valve timing. He said that my truck, like other 5.0's cannot have true duals.
So, I called my brother to verify. My brother is a Ford mechanic said my current truck, a 2010 f150, has variable valve timing. I have had true duals on it almost since I have had it (almost 5 years).
Anyone in here able to shed some light on this? TIA.

They are full of BS. Use the search function and you'll see this has been discussed before and several have done it, myself included. If you have more questions that don't get answered with the search function come back, ask, and I'll try not to say anything daft (Lenn).

Find a new muffler shop.
Now what I have heard is that a lot of the new v8 engines that have cylinder deactivation have valves built into the exhaust. From what I read removing these and putting an exhaust makes the engine sound like crap when half the cylinders shut down

I had them install a H pipe right before the mufflers on my true dual set up. Sounds great, runs great, little bit more TQ on the lower end maybe, maybe up to a half of a mpg better 2013 KR 5.0.

Blackhawk, what kind of exhaust system are you running? I was thinking about the stainless works headers, with their high flow cat's all the way.
