The 5star tune waits till about 45 to shift to 6th and stock it would shift about 38 to 40mph. If trying to save gas I will shift manually and get it to higher gears quicker. I've found some improvement around town by doing this. Kinda a PIA though so I dont do it often.
Thanks man. Manual is the way I am thinking I will drive once it snows and the roads are slick as well. I don't see 1st getting me far on initial take off. I got the 87 performance as well. Do you have it or tried it yet?

Yeah I have the 87 perf, 87 econ, and 93 hipo. For the $ I like the 87 the best and have the most miles on this tune. I used the 93 for about 2.5K miles but when gas jumped up I went to the 87. There is a little difference in feel and mpg's are about the same so I have just kept the 87 in it for the last 4K or so and like it. The money really isnt the big issue but no need in throwing it away either.

Been thinking about getting a tune from Mike. Im confused on how the tune is done though. Is it done with a portable hand held device that is a plug, download and go? or is it a device that is mounted in the truck?

BTW.. I absolutely love my 6.2 so far. 2900 miles and rollin'! It likes to drink though..been getting around 14.2 avg.

Its a handheld plug and go SCT tuner. It wont get better mpg but will increase hp greatly. Amazing the difference in tuned vs not tuned. It brings in the torque a lot sooner which is how it should have been from the factory.

Yeah, you use your OBD2 connection. It saves your factory tune and replaces with the custom.

It increases throttle response, increases HP and TQ, adjusts shifting and increases revs. I feel it did increase my MPG's but it is pretty hard to say because it also makes your right calf stronger.
