Default Hand Held Tuner 2011 5.0

OK, I am starting to look around for hand held for my 2011 SC with 5.0.
I know that everyone speaks well of 5star and they are on my list, but I am curious if anyone has experience with Superchips tuner for these trucks?

I am looking for anyone who has actually bought/used hand-held on their truck. All the tuners sell for around $400 so I just want to make sure I get the best for my money.

Thanks.
John

SCT seems to be one of the most popular out there for Fords from the people that I have talked to

I have the Superchips 87 Octane Tune on my 5.0L FX4 Screw and am happy with it.

I did raise the shift points to get the tranmission to downshift more quickly when I got on the gas - it's an adjustment made outside the canned 87 tune with Superchips.

I had a superchips and the 5 star tune and the 5 star is definitely the way to go.....but the superchips does make a significant difference over stock

Go 5 star. Custom tunes are the only way to go.

The other advantage to going custom, especially with 5 star, is the ability to have changes made. Not all trucks are the same, nor do they all respond exactly to the same things. With a canned tune, you are locked in (to some extent). With a custom, you can have running revisions made for specific things much more easilly.

Plus, Mikes customer service is top notch!

I am curious to hear from anybody that is using hypertechs max energy tuner. I too am interested in tunes but I've always used hypertech in the past and had good experiences with them.

I have a hypertech max energy that I am returning, I'm still within the 30 money back period. I am supposed to be getting my SCT tomorrow

The hypertech let me change my tire size to 35" so my speedometer and odometer were correct and it felt like a slight performance increase. However it can not take into account the intake I put on or the exhaust that I have.

If you are going to stay stock I think hypertech is ok. If you want to get more flexibility out of your tuner then go SCT and why not the price isn't much different.
