Going thru New Jersey there is a stretch of highway for over 65 miles that the speed limit is 55 mph. I wouldn't do over 60 (NJ police is pretty strict on out of state speeders). My boat weighs in around 2,500 pounds. Maybe more later in the season. I just took it out of storage so the boat is totally empty of equipment, batteries and gasoline (tank holds around 50 gallons).

Man that's a sweet truck! I love that color.

The only thing I hope Ford comes out with in the next few years when I'm looking for another truck that I love on my Tundra is the roll-down back window and the reclining back seat. If they added those that I'd be in Ford in two - three years.

BTW - What was POS about the Tundra? I haven't had any problems with mine yet...

2008 Tundra...Cracked headers (both sides), lug nuts cracking off (requiring a punch and a hammer to get them off), radio shutting on/off by itself, moonroof opening/closing by itself, torque converter slippage when towing the boat, front differential grinding between 30-40 mph, gas pedal debacle (took my all weather mats and replaced them with thin junk), rear brakes would lock up when driving (some kind of sensor problem), front seat mounts would click and knock (drove me crazy!), rust on the bumpers and 11.2 mpg's on the highway (no load), all of this by 40,000 miles!

The roll down back window is one of my favorite parts of my Toyota Surf. Wish more companies offered that option. Lovevthe amount of air flow with it,

Did you use the "tow/haul mode" or "M" or just left it in "D"?

Yeah that is awesome even though I like the power sliding window but completely open is very cool indeed! Only other truck I can think of with this option is Chevy Avalanche.

My Wife's 2010 Sport Trac has a electric rear window. It is really nice when you get in a hot car, just crack the window 2" and turn on the AC and the hot air exits fast.

I liked that feature on mt '03 Sport Trac also. Just wished I had more choices than closed, fully open of cracked a little. Halfway open would have been nice. Still, it was what convinced me I never wanted to buy a truck without a power rear window of some sort.

Nice to see your thread.
I'm in an 08 Tundra 5.7, and about to make this same move. Some of the same issues you had. The new Tundra isn't the dependable truck the original Tundra was. I bought the 08 based on my 2000 experience. Toyota is headed down hill.

I'll be towing as well, and that added torque of the EcoBoost V6 will be nice, especially in the Rockies at altitude.

May I ask what kind of deal you got?
