I used to challenge guys to races at the track for $$, ask them if they wanted a pro tree, which they said yes to but didn't actually understand what a pro tree was. I'd leave on the first yellow and they'd be sitting there stunned for another second + while I was whopping them down the track. Sneaky? YES but fun.
I've been known to be sneaky with nitrous too...
Now you see it

Now you don't!
There you go, 5oh... With all these tips and tricks your pappy wont have a chance.... So funny.

Seems like you would have raced a million times if you had your own personal 1/4 mile. If your pops has slow reaction time you could easily take him. Gets some videos.

Yea thats the thing. My dad has been drag racing for 40 years. He has a 92 Ranger with a 418 windsor that runs 9.90's. Also has his street cruiser thats a 64 Ford Fairlane that runs low 10's. He may be 62 but his reaction times are better than mine. Im hoping to run high 15's. Its raining now so Im not sure if I will be going to the track today.

Experience is hard to heat no matter what your in!

Too funny how all the Eco guys chime in with hate! Just put a small amount of boost to your 5.0 and the Eco will NEVER stand a chance!

Haha I've done that before, except without warning him. If you leave on the first or second yellow, you'll finish first. You also throw them off-kilter so they usually screw up when they do go.

I re-read the thread and didn't see this "hate" you speak of.

But anyway, just put a small amount of extra boost on the eb, and its back in front.

Some hints to get you started ..... ( ultimately you'll get your own routine that works/feels best for you ).
* Wash and wax/polish the car before going. *Every litter bit helps.

* Lub' any/all lubable pieces. *Front/rear stablizer bar bushings, A-arm pivots, etc.. Suggest using (say) silicone spray.

* 1/4 tank of gas. *E85 if possible.

* Remove the junk in the cab and bed. *Including the spare and jack.

* Traction control -OFF-.

* Tow/Haul -ON-.

* Leave the transmission in D(rive).

* All accessories -OFF-. *Radio, heat/defrost, etc..

* Drive around the water box.

* Do a couple of dry hop/chirps to ( somewhat ) clean the tires.

* To launch ... left foot on brake, right foot over gas pedal.

* (assuming a non-pro' tree) Leave as close as possible @ the last yellow light.

* Lift the brake foot and nail the gas foot. *Depending on the track condition, you may have to experiment here and opt for a ease into and then nail it.

* Before the next lap, raise the hood. *For cool-down purposes.

Repeat.
Stage deep. Leave hard.

I didn't think pro tree had a first or last yellow. Thought they both came on at same time.

Pro tree is all three yellows at once and green.
