Sad to say that is true. The misfire issue and loss of power are two different issues though. For me, every now and then the engine would stumble as a result of a misfire but it would keep going and I could drive it out of it. The limp mode/loss of power though was different. I couldn't drive it out of that. I'd have to find a way to the shoulder of the road to turn the engine off to reset it, and disconnect the negative battery cable for a few minutes... As instructed by the fse that was assigned to my case

I've had it happen once. Cleared the code with my SCT and it hasn't happened since. I didn't feel endangered as I knew what was happening and could prepare for it. But someone who doesn't know anything about it would get panicked very quickly. I could see someone getting injured, but Ford could most likely fight it in that case.

I'm sorry but if you are that clueless to properly attach your floor mats or that stupid that you can not press the brakes, shut the engine off or simply throw it into neutral you should not be driving. I never felt endangered other than a couple times that it happened to me towing in traffic. I wasnt trying to pull out in front of anybody though. I was towing trying to pull hills those times and had to put my flashers on to merge thru traffic to get off the interstate. I was one of the guys that experienced it over 30 times. I can see how it could be dangerous but my reason for the recall would be to fix the problem. The problem with that though is that they still don't know what causes it. I'm not totally sold on the intercooler being the root cause. I kept having the issue after the new cac. I will say that they finally made it right by working out a trade. It just took 19 trips back with the final one on a flatbed when limp mode blew out the transmission.

Well, ghost, I hope it gets fixed! How's that for eloquence for ye? By fixed, I mean Ford gives ye lucres back. For me, it means I have about eliminated the Ecoboost from me list. Maybe even Ford altogether, I'll see. Keeping me old '02 5.4 for longer though, partly because of all this kind of mess. Ram, GM, Tundra, oh me, I just don't know yet! Heheheeee, I like competition -
