Don't fear the gear. Knew several people that went with 3.73s in their S197 mustangs and regretted not doing 4.10s the first time around.

My gears are awesome! No complaints here! I paid a local shop to do it and I am pleased with the outcome. Mileage in town seems to have increased, mileage on the highway might have gone down just a tad. My take off is definitely quicker and I get up to speed faster too. I went with 3.73s cause I will eventually supercharge my truck and I hear that 4.10s with supercharger means too much torque and hard to get traction on the street.

Well, if you plan on going forced induction later and still having it as a daily driver then yes 3.73 was probably a good idea. N/A I still say 4.10, screw gas mileage.

My previous truck was an 05 F150 with a 7 inch lift and 35's

Even with the 35's, my 4:54's were way too low geared. I think it may have even slowed my truck down which doesn't make sense to me but it definitely felt slower.

It had the old 5.4 which sucked ***** so maybe that has something to do with it...
