Ford has not even approved walnut blasting. Their solution, if you do have sludge, is to replace the entire head.

Now, I have not heard of one person with a sludged up engine, in a 3.5 ecoboost. I bet you won't have to worry about cleaning as ford uses a reversion process in the combustion chamber to help deal with this.

It has to do with valve timing and allow the combustion chamber to scavenge out all by products before a new combustion event happens
