Does the Ecoboost need the extra adapter for the Fumoto valve or not? Looks like their web site calls for it.

Genius idea. Never knew these existed. Heard oil changes on Eco are a pain and messy. This gizmo with tube should solve all that. Can anyone else confirm if the extra piece is needed or not for the Eco. As stated before their website calls for it.

I can 100% confirm that the extra adapter pieces is NOT needed for the EcoBoost. I installed mine myself a few months ago and like the website said, I ordered it with the adapter. It fits perfectly fine without the adapter and if I wasn't at work right now, I would gladly take a picture and show how it fits without.

The adapter is meant for oil pans that have a recessed area where the drain plug fits and the EB does not have this issue or pan style so it isn't needed.

I had one on my last car, 2009 Pontiac G8 GT, my wifes car a 2010 Edge, my EB F150, and just ordered one for my Supra that I am currently building to avoid the hassle of the nightmare of an oil change that goes along with that car too

Hit or miss in certain markets.

They make changing oil clean and easy. If you offroad, safety wire is your friend.

I use a plug (hose with silicone over the end) and hose clamp for added security and also keeps the ball valve inside clean. I use the one with nipple, no drain pan needed just storage container.

Not needed. I ordered it as suggested by the website and it didn't even fit. It hit a transmission cooler line. I emailed them and they said they would correct their webpage, but obviously that is not the case.

They then also said I could send it back for a refund. Really? It would cost me the same to ship the dang things back.

The valve itself is super slick. Used it with the last oil change...first time to get the use of it. With the hose attached, can't get any easier and CLEANER on your hands...and it really encourages driving a super hot engine right into the garage and flipping the valve as soon as you park it...nice and hot flowing oil.

Stupid question but you just slide the hose onto the nipple when you are ready to do the oil change right? Or can you leave the hose attached and just tuck it up inside somewhere?

I have one of these and they are great!

sluggo you could do either and be fine, I personally just slide the hose on and off.....it stays in my tool box.
