Frustrating Ford!!

sounds like they're thinking it's spark knock. fuel with heavy deposites creats carbon build up witch can lead to a knocking type noise that sounds like a timeing chain rattleing. where do you normaly get gas from?

Thats what they were hinting at... I get gas from a few different places usually from Shell or Chevron depending on current price. However I also get get gas from Circle K right by my house. I would understand if the problem just began, but it has been consistent since around 2200 miles. Back then I was almost exclusively getting gas at Chevron.

My experience is very different. My Fords have been great. But my 5.4 had the sparkplug removal issue. It cost me an extra $350 for my plug change to have the plugs removed. I wrote a letter to Ford explaining the extra cost; asking for $350. They sent me a check for $500!!!! THAT is caring about your customer!

"Very Intermittent" is always a problem and the dealer can only do so much. If Ford acted on what everyone claimed was wrong, they would go broke. I know that I will get flamed for this statement but this is a fact we all can not escape

While your statement is true, they also have an obligation to maintain 100% customer satisfaction. When a customer brings them a problem that is ongoing, they have a duty to resolve it. It is also true that there is a cost of doing business and that a company that inspires you to spend the kind of money we're spending on these trucks is required to support said buyers and maintain satisfaction. I'm personally not satisfied spending near 50k and have a dealership tell me an intermittent problem isn't as big a deal as one that is persistent, especially when it is unclear what the issue is or the resultant damage! Just my two cents - No flaming here

Proven again and again by a local dyno shop that I've been dealing with for 20+ years.
