Love mine, it is perfect. Fit and finish was very high, perfect OEM fit. At cruising speed (up to 80 at least) you can't tell it is there, under mild throttle application it is maybe 15% louder than stock, and at wide open it is loud! Can't tell you about MPGs or HP really, did it right before my first tank of gas ran out and I went to 91 from the dealers 87.

This is the perfect intake for anyone trying to make their truck sound more aggressive under WOT but have it be near stock sounding in almost any other throttle application.

Default Easy possible Drone fix

Resurrecting this thread. I recently purchased the roush cai for my 13 fx4 5.0 and like others, was experiencing a harsh drone in the cabin around 2000 rpms. I had some self adhesive window foam tape from lowes and added it to the perimeter of the cai housing. This virtually eliminated the drone, now it has a nice rumble. I think the housings rubber gasket doesn't sit flush with the hoods underside. This was just a test mockup, I plan on getting black foam tape to make it look more clean.

Did this fix work? I'm interested in getting the Roush CAI but I don't want the loud cabin drone.

I would send that pic to Roush and maybe they will create a rubber seal for it. Good thinking on your part! I feel you on the drone. It's one of the main reasons I went back to the factory air intake.

ROUSH already puts a seal there.

The pic'ed mod' is a seal on top of that seal.

I too am wondering if this fix worked?? I like the rumble of my Roush cai but removed it due to the horrible vibration and noise at cruising speed 1500-2000 rpms. Any update to this mod??
