F150 5.0 Exhaust-Need Help To Pick One
#21
I have a cherry bomb muffler...with duels out the back corners ..2012 5.0... No resonators..incredibly loud..not sure on model but its a really short muffler..screams in the high rpms and nice rumble on down shifting ...only thing I would change is its not stainless and will need replaced in like 2-3 years already..prob just go with a ROUSH set up and be done later on

Im personally gonna probably figure out a magnaflow universal muffler. Straight through design. Probably 18 inch. Replace the resonator with a straight pipe. And add a 4 inch tip at a muffler shop. Probably around 100 for the muffler and another 100 for the muffler shop to do the rest. The only research im planning on doing is which magnaflow muffler to use. There is dozens.

It will sound mean but be pretty loud in the cab. There's a vid of my buddy's 5.0 with a solo jpipe and a 4" tail section with aero 4040xl. Sounds great but inside it too loud for my taste.

i sold my roush and went with a resonator delete to a 2.5inlet/2.5 outlet 18'' magnaflow with a dump at the axle. i used the stock exhaust hangers and welded them into place on the new tubing, spent 70 bucks on the muffler and 20 bucks on a piece of stainless tubing to weld it to the correct length. no drone and sounds great. not too loud but a good low growl. get lots of compliments on it around town.

If someone tells you their truck didn't get considerably louder after removing the factory resonator is lying. It might not be louder cruising but I've seen both Ecoboost and 5.0s with resonator delete and both are louder in cab while accelerating.

I did a resonator delete when I already replaced the muffler. The tailpipe sound didn't change much, maybe a little more gurgle but the interior volume was at least twice as loud. I would say bad loud but I like to hear myself in the cab.

I am the God of hellfire
My buddy has that system on his 5.0. This exhaust has a huge flaw in my opinion, the flaw being there is NO WAY to keep your foot off the gas pedal. GOD DAMN it sounds good!
