Have a look in the vendor section in this form at SOLO's group buy and see what they have. I think they are made in Canada, lifetime warranty, made from 409 and 304 SS. Price is in your range too.

So many choices and no real way to hear and feel the sound online. Hearing things in person is the only way. I on the other hand didn't take my own advice. I sprung for the Borla ATAK system without hearing firsthand and absolutely love it. The gamble paid off!

I was going to go that route too just before I dropped the hammer on an ATAK I found SOLO and it has everything I'm looking for in the Mach X dual incl a better price and lifetime warranty. As far as sound, you're absolutely right, a bit of a gamble but I think most aftermarket systems will sound pretty good. My bigger concern is hwy drone, I drove a friends 5.0 with MBRP cool duals sound was OK but there is a definite drone at certain RPM's that I'd like to avoid. I'll definitely report what I find with mine by the end of June.

There wasn't a dyno sheet out when I bought it, so I'm not sure if there are any hp/tq gains. I would assume but I dont know for sure. I bought it for the sound. And it sounds like a beast. My ears can feel a difference.

Just great people thanks, I think I'm going for the heartthrob exhaust and might change the muffler to a Solo 4 inch one just because it sounds a bit nicer I think.

I would just get the attak Bora muffler and get a local shop to do the bending and etc.But it only a 3 inch pipe I want my truck to also breathe like a fire breathing dragon.

i have the roush catback on my truck. sounds awesome, but the drone is getting annoying so i'm about to just get a magnaflow magnapack to put in place of the stock muffler and put that back on the truck.

Default 5.0 exhaust

The factory exhaust on the 5.0 has a resonator(glasspack) after the cats. all I did rather then waste the $ on an "exhaust system" was take muffler out of the factory system. The factory exhaust disconnects at the resonator. It is 2.5" at this point. i adapted it up to a 3" from there back and dumped it by the rear axle. it isnt terrilbly loud and sounds good. If you think that is too loud you can have a shop cut out your factory muffler and weld in a straight pipe for about $40 to $80 with the factory tailpipe. Sound will exit further back and not bother you so much. I like it dumped just before the rear axle and turned out to side a bit. I used some parts from junk yard as well, but I like to tinker...lol anyway it sounds pretty awesome like a truck should sound. Each to his own. Gonna use $ toward my lift and tires.

Unless you go with a True stainless (not the coated crap) which I think has its own unique sound your wasting your money. Like others have mentioned, add a good quality muffler to your stock system and roll. Even with a performance tune the factory exhaust is more than capable of handling the job. Just my .02 cents
