According to them my build date doesn't fall under any tsb's, and its not the belt/front accessory drive causing that.

It does sound like valve train, I wonder if a lash adjuster has gone flat or is leaky. Does it go away with higher RPM? I ask as additional oil pressure may pump it up enough to quiet it down.

Did you mention if it does it hot and cold?

my 11 makes a ticking sound as well mine is from the side tho... i did notice the foam things on my 11 are different than yours on the 12 mine cover more of the intake i think

Sounds normal to me. if you wanted to hear loud ticking, listen to a Viper engine. My SRt10 ticked LOUD at idle. That was because the design of the motor allowed lots of clearance at idle so when the V10 raced up to 6200RPM things did not break.

Injectors tick, but not like that. I can seperate the injector noise from the actual tick. Plus injectors would be there all along, this started just after 13k. Anyway the trucks gone, went to a different dealer for a second opinion, and fell in love with a '13 Mustang GT/CS. Wife threw me on the couch for the past week.
