Default Engine Oil temp sensor comes on?

I have a 2011 f150 ecoboost 3.5l and while driving my truck for 5 mintues I can see the engine oil temp gauge just rising then after that the engine oil temp notification pops up. The truck has only been running for 5 minutes.i also notice a loud fan turns on. Any suggestions?

Edit: There is no check engine light on, its just a notification that pops up

There is no oil temp gauge. Across the top of the dash you have Water Temp, Oil Pressure, Fuel level, and Trans Temp. No oil temp.

However, if the warning is popping up on the dash, then you need to start by replacing the sensor. There is no way the oil gets hot enough in 5 minutes of driving to warrant that message.
