Loki does this every week. First off he has the lightest truck configuration possible. Second off I have never seen him post the overall mileage/average screen, or respond to request to do so. Loki has also said he has a custom aero trailer.
I have also stated that if he is consistently getting well over what Ford advertises he should give them a call. He could literally be the poster child or Ford with those numbers.

You eb fanboys can't stand the fact that your motors don't excell in every category known to man and anybody who says so is a troll plain and simple. This thread is about a 5.0 eb comparison so stating such observations constitutes trolling. Get a life.

I do wish I could beat EPA #'s while towing. Santa still putting presents under my tree would also be cool ...

Hi Fellas
I'm a Mustang owner at the moment. Traded a 08 Silverado for it and have come to the conclusion that I need a truck more than a sports car. Any how I'm not sure if i want to go back to Chevy and Ford impressed me with the Mustang, and I hear good stuff about the F150.
I've read up bit on here and watched a few videos and reviews.
But i want to hear from owners that have real life experience. If you had the option to do it again would you keep the same engine or would you change and why?

About me:
- I would be driving the truck on a DAILY basis to work.
- I don't tow anything like a boat/heavy trailer at the moment
- I would use it more for payload/hauling and light trailer for ATV's/Jetski
- I'm looking at a Crew Cab
- I dont race my trucks
- I like to get good MPG
- I like the V8 sound, but can live with Turbo's spooling as well
I've always been a truck guy until moving to the city, though I would try to live without one. Bought the new 5.0 mustang with 6spd man and 5.0 and 3.73 gears, liked the car but didn't really like the no low end power or having to rev high to get power and needed a truck. Drove 2 5.0's in F-150 4x4 and thought they were dogs, after that I bought the 3.5 Eco without even a test drive knowing it couldn't be weaker than the 5.0's I drove. I couldn't be happier!! Well unless I could have fit my lifted 2010 550 hp f-250 in all these parking garages in the city!! I have been driving high hp diesels for the last 12 years, that's probably why I like the Ecoboost, sort of feels like a little diesel, it makes good power by building boost with converter locked instead of having to downshift.

See, now those number are great and believable...that is not 28mpg+...but 18.3 while towing and city driving to boot

That's is not the only reason the EB drops more fuel mileage than the 5.0. under a towing load. The EB exhaust temps rise and the computer pulls back timing and fattens fuel ratio's. If you are not prepared to feed it premium fuel mileage and power numbers will suffer when loaded or in very hot temps as per owners manual. My 5.0 with 3500 miles and 87 ethanol free fuel is now getting 21 mpg at 60 towing 3000lbs and 26-27 empty at 60. This thing is awesome if you don't have to stop!

The EB is a great motor , just not the best option if you tow every day and want fuel mileage.

I drove both and preferred the ecoboost. The 5.0 sounds great but it seemed to me that the ecoboost had more low end grunt. If the ecoboost was not offered, I would have bought a 5.0 and been pleased.
