I will now check any used cars oil level Before purchasing after reading this. Lol

Changing oil more often on short trip trucks is wise.

We get a little of this in our Lincoln mkt with eco too. It makes me glad my truck is a 5.0.

There have been a lot of posts here and on the main 2009-2015 Ford f150 page but I have not seen anyone else with this problem on a brand new truck. I had 6% fuel on oil change at 1600 miles. Has anyone else had this issue on such a low mile ecoboost?

did any of your trucks have a oil smell in the cab? I put a JLT can on it and it fills up fast

Check for leaks. How is it installed?

Didn't want to start a new thread....

Anyone notice this on the 5.0? I have noticed it a few times within the last couple months. I would start up and the smell of gas was pretty intense...outside and inside the truck. Not 100% what is considered a short trip but I noticed the smell the worst the day after a long trip, actually.

I am due for an oil change though, so I'll let them know, but I've noticed posts about the Eco...not so much the 5.0.

I took mine to the dealer today for the smell of fuel in the oil. This is a well known issue on ecoboost engines and there have been a few tsbs for it. The most recent was earlier this year and involves replacing the pcv with an updated one, reprogramming the pcm, and changing the oil at no cost to the customer. Tsb 15-0003.

The dealer told me my oil wasn't overfilled, though it appeared to be to me. They also claimed there's no fuel smell. I came over from a Toyota (have had all Toyota trucks before and never had a single issue). I love my f150, but the issues these eco boosts seem to be having is making me think maybe I made a mistake leaving Toyota. I hope I'm wrong.

Next step is probably oil analysis. If that comes back with fuel in it, I'm going to be furious with my dealer. Question - tsbs apply even after the warranty expires, correct???

You can do a tsb after warranty but odds are you would have to pay for it
