Maaaaaaan those wheels sound bad*****. I can't wait to see the gains on the stock fuel system.
There are a lot companies working on turbo upgrades now, and with the 2015's keeping the 3.5EB we will be seeing some fast trucks....especially dropping 700lbs from them. DR's and Caltracs will become the norm, hahaha.

turbo whistle...
I've been trying to come up with more ways to increase turbo whistle as well, but going in I knew that there is a point where gasoline turbochargers are not going to sound like diesel turbos. Ever. The relative speeds and sizes and volumes of the two are so different (physically) as well as differing exhaust pressures that they will never sound the same. The reason they are audible under light throttle is because that is where most boost is generated... These turbos are smaller and spin in excess of 170,000RPM... That's the right amount of zeros...i.e. the speed where they are building boost you will hear that whistle around 70,000 to 100,000 RPM... At WOT, that sound diminishes because the sound they are making at 170,000 RPM as the boost curve tapers off is imperceptible with all other factors considered. It's pitch is so high that even if there were no road noises it would be more faint that at the low end of the curve.
My issue with the stock boost control system is that the turbos (from the factory) are calibrated to produce around 12-13lbs of boost. It is very effective with a stock truck and with cheesy stock tires can produce good fuel economy if you can keep your foot out of it who wants to do that though?
I've added the 4" heartthrob as well as a 6" tip and removed the intake silencers. I've still got the stock DP but I'm thinking about gutting my Cats instead of buying the $700-1200DP. I've gotten over the mileage thing, I can still pull 23-24 out of it on the highway if i'm REALLY careful. But i've got 275/70-18 10 plys that weight 54 pounds each I'm just wanting to pull more power out of it and have fun. Living in a small town I can get away with more power and less mileage because its 1/2 mile to work every day.
The intake silencers didn't seem to make a bit of difference, but the day I put the Heartthrob on, it was a HUGE difference (mostly in sound and I would say spool time improved... this could by my imagination though...) Lots of Turbo whistle at idle and more noticeable through the power band. Intake noise was also considerably increased and if i release throttle after hard acceleration right as i'm approaching max boost, I get a decent blowoff (or recirc). As much as I'd like my truck to whistle like a 7.3, i know that's not realistic, but one of these days, i'm going to do the Batmo wheels, turbosmart waste gate actuators (which actually will make a HUGE difference with controlling when boost tapers) and also the turbosmart blowoff valves, even though I know they are pretty much a waste of money.
I hope that this answers some of the questions people had, i'm not an expert, but i've done enough work and been around this stuff long enough I have a pretty decent understanding of how it all works. Not to mention smart friends that are engineers for turbocharged aircraft engines I'm new to the forum and love reading what guys are doing to their trucks! this is definitely the nicest most fun functional vehicle I've ever had. I'll appreciate any feedback people have got or other ways they've improved their rides!

I live in a very small town, and even worse, in Idaho... The options for getting my truck tuned after I do an upgrade that requires it are challenging... any suggestions? Is there a way I can do custom tunes by data logging? and if so what is best platform for doing that? I am a former Subaru STi enthusiast, so I'm familiar with something like an accessport. I'd prefer to avoid the "canned" maps that assume stock conditions like bullydog, edge, etc... by the way, I love your website! you guys have some cool S*#T that i'll be buying for my truck soon...

It includes the downpipe, tuner, spark plugs and custom tunes provided by us for your mods. These do not assume stock we will build them for your truck. Diablo is a custom tuning platform meaning that any other diablosport CMR tuner can write you a tune.
