Default Ecoboost trucks built after 9/18/12

There are hundreds of pages of threads on the original condensation/IC issues going back to the 2011 model years. I was wondering if we can start a thread for the Ecoboost F150's built after 9-18-12 and newer 2013's to see if the problems of the past have been corrected (permanently). Also, for the 2011-2013 owners who have had the corrective parts or TSB's done. This way we can gauge the success rate and a place for F150 owners to give feedback specific to this issue.

I agree, been wondering the same. The comments I've seen seem to point towards a fix, but I'm not sure.

See this thread, with poll results. It seems to be 50/50 unfortunately.

Then this thread makes me think they may not be fixed after all.

I just want a final answer, there is an EB sitting on a local lot that I'm ready to buy if they are resolved. If they aren't, I have to find a 5.0 with 3.73, which seems to be rare around here, and then with bucket seats, which is also rare. I'd likely end up ordering it if I go that route.

My build date is 12-2012. Only have a few hundred miles but so far so good. Hoping for 100K trouble free miles.

How or where do you find your build date?

See this post. It's on your window sticker (accurate to within a few days anyway).

The true date has to be pulled from Ford but this will get you close enough.

I posted this in a different related thread, meant to post it here:

Check out this post where someone with a 2013 (build date October, so *should* be the latest) has a different part number.

Here is another with a 10/12 build date, matches the link above, but not the new P/N. 2 posts down, there's another from 12/12 with the same P/N (DL34-9L440-AC).

So, from what I can tell, here's what we know:
Latest TSB 12-10-19: BL3Z-6K775-B
<unknown>: DL34-9L440-AC
2012 Factory part: <unknown>

Is the DL34 part the original that was causing problems, and ford used it beyond the discussed 9/18 date in 2013 builds? Does anyone have a built in 2013 truck yet to look at?

Dunno if this helps any.. i just bought a ecoboost yesterday havent had it but 24 hours. it was born on 12/12/12 ikr.. I'm suddenly feeling this impending doom feeling. i found the truck for 39,500 before ttl and gap and all that yada yada its a 2013 fx4 eco black on black. only 1 weird thing happened in it so far nothing like the shudders Ive been reading didn't have to pull over and let her catch breathe or anything like that it just felt like maybe i missed a gear and did a quick grind like Ive seen with people in standard tran. Mustangs but it was brief maybe a half a sec and then gone and i didnt think anything of it until i started reading on the forums is this the problem in which yall speak of? sorry for the run on sentences

and mind you that was the only thin. i was coming on a on ramp and i punched it. it was right as i punched it. i prob shouldnt of done that ne how motors not broke in or anything like that, it had 18 miles when i drove it off the lot the dealership was located 2 hours away from me and i had drive the truck all the way back home. so it was about 120 miles into its lifetime i experienced with it. other then that i took the traction control off and did a nice slide by around a corner just to feel her legs straddle around my face .. it tasted nice. havent had 1 problem since

Probably just the tranny trying to learn your habits and failed that time. Mine did the same after I bought it with 10km on it. After a couple hundred it was fine and now with 2000km it's never done it again.

build date was on 9-18-12 on mine. I'm approaching 8,500 miles in 4 months of ownership and havent had any issues. Need to change factory oil soon though.

aai, are you waiting for the 10k oil change intervals?? Are u going by the oil life monitor? Glad to hear your not having issues. According to the info posted it appears your truck was built on the day of the switch of newer parts. lets hope you continue to have no issues.
