Angry Ecoboost Tranny Problem

Brand New King Ranch Ecoboost 4x4 / 500 miles on it, getting on highway with moderate acceleration and Pop,Boom - Tranny goes - ran enough to limp to dealer on access road. 5 Mi. away

Real concerned here - hope not a sign of things to come ! It was awesome until then.

Had to be a fault from factory I'd say. Too soon to wreck anything. My dad bought a 97 powerstroke new and the second time we tried 4hi it wouldn't go, turns out they missing a bushing in the transfer case and it bent a shift fork. I think that's why they have the 20,000km warranty where they will fix everything including parts that wear out. I had my brake pads done on warranty on my 2001 f350 at 18000km. Kinda got off topic but I wouldn't sweat it, warranty is to get the bugs out.

This is the first I have heard of this so my guess is, this is not systemic. There will always be hiccups, especially when a company is producing tens of thousands of vehicles. The dealer will fix it and you should be good.

Disclaimer: I understand your concerns. I would be pissed if this happened to me.

Default Trans

I don't think it 's a signe of things to come I hope ! I have over 2500 miles on my 2011 F150 4x4 supercrew Ecoboost motor and trans, and 900miles of that is towing a 6600lb trailer up& down steep mountain passes one of
which is 11mile of 6% grade and my ecoboost went up it at 70mph at 2800rpm with 3.31 gears. And I have had no problems yet.
So I'm sure you have had a one defective part, that the dealer will get fixed on warrenty. after that I'm sure you'll be as happy as I have been.

Sorry to hear about that. I have 10k miles on mine with no problems. I bet the dealer will make it right for you. Good luck and don't get too discouraged. You will love your truck, these things are awesome.

7.5 months since the OP posted and no updates. I'm guessing it is fixed.

What did your trans temp look like on those long grades?
