Default Ecoboost spark plugs, when should I upgrade?

I have a 4" solo exhaust and an AFE stage 2 intake. After installing my intake I have actually taken a hit on my fuel mileage on the interstate. I have also noticed what seems like another noise coming from the engine bay other than the sound of my bov's. I'm curious if it's time to upgrade to new spark plugs but I am unfamiliar with them. Help?

How many miles on your truck? If less than 30 K, then you can probably
pull them and re-gap them......but as long as you are going to all that work, just change them. Rock Auto has some of the best pricing for the EB plugs.
i think that they are called SP534's, and are gapped at .030 right out of the box.

I did it when I bought my truck. It was used and had 18k on the odo. Spark plugs are cheap and easy to change.

As of right now the truck has just over 61,200. I have had the 60K service work done on it but wasn't sure if they do anything with spark plugs. Sometimes when I accelerate it seems like the truck may be missing.

They probably didn't change them. They claim they are good for 100k miles. I paid $3.99 each for SP534's at Orielly's. They weren't in stock but they got them for me the next day.

If you've gone that far with the factory plugs in an EB...........you are WAY overdue for new plugs. I know that your owner's manual is going to say 100,000 miles, but there have been plenty of discussions here that 30,000 miles or so is about ideal for new plugs to be installed.
This is especially true because the factory plugs are famous for having gaps that are all over the place, with some plugs being gapped as small as .029, and others in the same engine being .042.

Its likely if you have a miss under acceleration that 1 or more is cracked, and or showing carbon tracking! Its best to swap out the plugs, and the coil boots too if you have any cracked plugs. Both are fairly inexpensive....

Okay so I am going to order new plugs and boots. Anyone know the part number for the boots and what gapping size I should go with the new spark plugs?

As far as the gap, Ford originally had them gapped at .040 to .042, then when the newer plugs (SP534) came out, Ford lowered the recommended gap to .030. Most here have been going with the .030.

Are these the coil covers you are thinking about? Less than $10.00 for all 6!

Stock engine gap them .030-.032, tuned .028-.030! Just did mine last week, I had 58,600 on my origonal plugs no issues, and mine came pre gapped at .032! I dont kjow what the part # for the boots are.
