We were supposed to leave this evening but it wasn't finished at the closing bell. Supposedly the mechanic is working past close and into the night to get it fixed - hopefully that's true. I was told it will be done and ready for me to pick up at 7am. Although we had to change plans and I've lost about 12 hours, I'd rather them make sure they fix it right instead of a bandaid which would fall off somewhere in Wyoming. The mechanic pulled a coil from parts just in case that needs replaced too. I'll update at some point 8/1 - hopefully from on the road.

We picked the truck up as soon as the dealer opened on August 1st and hit the road... just returned late on the 20th. From Michigan we traveled through MI, IN, IL, IA, NE, WY, MT, SD, MN, WI, and back again to MI. Sometime around 10x, we lost track of how many times the truck stalled out on the trip. Luckily we must have had an angel watching over us because almost every time we had no one behind us and were able to make it over to a shoulder. The one that scared us the most was on a bridge (basically flat) that had no shoulder. Just like all the others, we had to shut off the truck, throw the 4 ways on, pray no one would hit us, and restart it. Each time it sounded like it wasn't happy about restarting.
I haven't had a chance to take it back in yet, but I'm hoping they'll move on to the next step, whatever that might be. The check engine light turned off sometime around SD so there isn't a light on currently.
Maybe related but not sure how it would be.. our advanced traction light came on and the display showed that I was at a 45 degree angle in front and tilted to the right 45 degrees on that screen .. that too eventually went away so I'm not quite sure I'm even calling it the right thing.
Thanks for hearing me out .. feels better to vent to someone other than my wife.

I kinda had a similar issue mine first started back last September it did it once where I had to shut the truck off on a long trip it was raining out. Engine light flashes but didn't stay on. Now almost a year later I have been trying to get the dealership to fix the issue with the cac but wouldn't fix it unless they could get it to repeat itself. Well, just took a long 9 hour trip to Myrtle Beach this week. We left on Monday and it was raining the whole time on the way down and the shuttering issue happened like 15 times or so and finally the check engine light stayed on which I was glad it did. At one point the truck was shaking so bad I had pull off the road and shut the engine off. I got it to the dealership in myrtle beach and I got an appt. for them to check it out. I have to take it back tmrw for them to put the cac deflector on. Hopefully this fixes the issue. If it doesn't I'm going to get rid of the truck no point in having an unreliable vehicle. I hope it rains the whole way home so i can test out the part they put because seem to be the only time it happens. If the dealership back home would have put the deflector on when I wanted them too I might not be on vacation right now without my truck to drive around so incovenient

I'd like to see how I can help. Please PM me your name, phone number, VIN, mileage, and dealer info, and I'll take a look.

Hey Ashley just got my truck back from the dealer today. They put the deflector on the CAC per TSB 13-8-1 so hopefully they have gotten my problem fixed for me. Keep you updated if the problem still exists after they put the mod on.

If that is all that was done, I would be surprised if much changes, but hoping for the best. I would have thought a check of coils & plugs plus some voltage checks, but that does require diagnostic ability. If it was worked on most of the time they had it, I might be wrong.
