Mine was built on 4-6-11 and I have all of the same symptoms. I wonder if they would do a reflash on mine since it was produced after 4-1-11?

How do you tell when your truck was produced?

There is a sticker on the drivers door. Mine says 5/11 but I still have the rough idling problem.

I haven't found a TSB that relates to the trans shifting issue, only the one for running rough that covers many engine makes already posted. Another thing I noticed today, I used to have to push the shift+ button to show what gear the trans was in every time I took it out of D, now it saves the last setting so I don't have to do it everytime. I also checked a co-workers Ecoboost that was built in June, and it already had the new program. So I don't know the exact cutoff, if it is what is listed in the posted TSB or something else, but I think that if you don't have to push the + button everytime to get the gear indicator to show it probably has a newer program.

It's SSM 21927 for the 2-1 downshift - but I have one of the first Ecoboost trucks, March 7 build date, and it also doesn't shift into 2nd gear as I slow down. The only time I get a 2-1 is if I never went fast enough to leave 2nd (and then, it does shudder, but I really dont want the transmission ripped apart to fix something that happens once a month)

I wouldn't be worried about it skipping 2nd as longs as it doesn't shift hard from 3 to 1. I think second is more of an accelerating gear. If you think about driving a standard, when you're slowing to a stop like approaching a stop light or sign you probably downshift and when you get to third gear you probably keep one foot on the clutch pedal and the other on the brake while coasting to a stop. You may even skip second gear subconsciously.

My truck was built in mid-Feb, and it always went 2-1 on the downshifts. Maybe not every time, but often enough that I would get the bump on the 2-1 and sometimes on the 5-4. Again, it wasn't a major issue to me, but I did notice when it happened.

I have 2500kms on my Ecoboost,3.73 gears, built in March and have noticed a couple of annoying things since new, when i take off from a stop it shifts 1-2-3 as per normal, when i slow down to make a corner it shifts from 3-1 smoothly which is fine, but when i accelerate slowly from that corner it shifts from 1-3 by-passing 2nd and lugs its way to normal speed for 3rd gear, which is basically every city corner i take(drives me crazy),never shifts into 2nd regardless of speed, unless you get into the gas to kick it down to 2nd, which also gets old real fast, the other issue it has is when you are driving approx. 45-55km/h and the truck is in 4th and let off the gas to coast it will clunk, like it is downshifting into third but stays in 4th, and it will do that 90% of the time, sometimes harder than others, but noticibly out of the ordinary every time, feels like hitting a small pothole! Anyone else experiencing similar symptoms?? Any input would be appreciated!
