I don't understand that because one board member dyno'd stock and with a CAI and gained less than 1 hp. Livernois reported the same results on their dyno. It's possible that it was just a better pass and had nothing to do with the CAI, especially since the trap speed didn't really change.
IMHO there is not much to gain with a CAI on "stock" truck. If the stock air box and filter flow enough air there is no benefit to opening it up. In fact it can be detrimental in some cases because the engine is tuned to the air-box, and there are factors such as resonance that come into play. I also do not see big cold air benefit if the case of the ecoboost because of the large inter-cooler, the air coming out is going to be pretty much the same temperature whether or not it varies by by a few degrees going in.
Sorry for getting off topic.

Strong MPH for Screw 4x4!!
Your time is really just an indication of how well you got out of the hole.
The real question is what was the mph difference stock vs cold air intake?
Really good thread guys.......... good info.
These trucks are the new GMC Syclone of old!

14.59 @ 92.6mph. Stock 2011 FX4. Wasn't paying much attention to the tree while practicing a good 2wd launch. Never tried 4x4.
I recently did the E locker mod. Interested to see if that will help out of the hole.

Launched at 18-2k. Anything higher resulted in one tire fryer. Tires were at 36lbs.

Has anyone had any luck launching above 2 k in a 2012 or a 2011 with the locker mod? What RPM does the converter finally stall?
