That's not true. If you think your transmission is shifting from 4 to 2wd under load (pinning it in 1/4mile) your high buddy. The indicator will say 2wd but it won't shift under load. Trust me. You my friend, are wrong.
Some don't, some do. I found that mine did with a tune or without a tune. That was a 12 lariat, now my 13 fx4 didn't, fx4 doesn't have auto 4wd.

Lmao, your a piece of work, don't say you know for a fact because you don't, I raced my truck too, check the times, so that has nothing to do with it. Yes it did shift out of 4wd under a load at any given time, you can physically feel it shift out every time. It's not my first rodeo with a vehicle and I know when a truck is doing it, my 13 fx4 wouldn't do it and I was so pissed after I bought it. Here is a video of me doing a boost launch in 4wd (watch the rpms on the torque app) also it's not barking the tires in 4wd.

For this to work you have to have one of the "11 or "12 models with the AWD feature, so a Lariat, Platinum, or Limited(not sure about the KR). You can start out in either AWD or 4hi and switch back to 2wd just after it shifts to 2nd gear. You can hear it switch out(kind of a thud). But if you just have the regular 4wd it doesn't seem to work according to all the info we've gathered. The newer models it doesn't work on.

Like Bruce said about the years and the models, I would boost launch in 4wd high and as soon as I would launch I would shift out of 4wd, sometimes I would switch too early and break the tires loose. Usually I would wait Til after 2nd gear.

Well that sucks I have a 2012 fx4. A buddy of mine has a 2013 fx4 and says his will shift out. Im getting a pretty solid pop from something in the 4x4 slipping at wot around 50mph on my 93 tune. I was hoping I would be able to shift out and avoid this issue and still be able to have fun.
