And you can always go back to stock if you want to tow.. But I agree even two options plus stock would be nice!

Exactly and the updater works fast from what I hear. Some don't need to change tunes on the fly so it doesn't bother me.

Sluggo, you are super helpful. I have been reading the 15000 tuner threads, and I'm a little overwhelmed so correct me if I'm wrong.

Livernois creates their own totally custom tune based of your personal truck's "program", whereas Bully Dog, Superchips, etc kind of piggy back off the Ford generic release tune and basically increase boost/fuel etc?

I fully understand it's probably way more complicated than that, but I'm a simple man looking for a simple answer, lol.

Side note: What's stopping you from towing with a say...91* tune?

I mean sure, if your going to pull the maximum payload through the Rockies on a trip across the country I could see you wanting to load up the proper tow tune, but for a weekend at the lake I can't see why you couldn't tow a 6000 lb boat for an hour or two running a "normal" tune right?

Livernois isn't really a "custom" tune by true definition. It differs from other "canned" tunes in that they use a strategy code from your PCM for most up to date stock files. I am by far no expert. I just read the 50 page thread and learned most of this there. But Livernois is well known in racing community and with other ecoboost engines. They took their time to get it right before releasing their tune as to where superchumps, edge, bully all rushed theirs onto the market and am sure did not put forth the research and development that Livernois did.

Several guys have called them to HS e the programs tweaked, either for how much they tip in or like jcain with the racing fuel tune. I don't know of any of the other companies having that kind of customer service.

Going by everything I've read and heard, out of the 3 (Bully Dog, Super Chips, and Livernois) that have a current setup for the Ecoboost truck, Livernois has the best tune loaded onto one of the worst tuners? SCT will have something out soon I hope, when that happens, lots of good tunes will follow, I've had really good luck with tunes from BBR, Brenspeed, and MPT, lets hope they jump into the ecoboost tuning market...

Let's hope tuners don't just hop in the eco market and start popping motors. These are obviously sensitive setups and the average Joe tuner adding boost and fuel will just give the platform a bad name

Nothing new about this type of engine and fueling system, DI has been out for years, yes the programming is advancing, but Turbo'd DI, gas engines have been around here in the state sense 2006, (Go look at any Mazda Speed 3 or Speed 6 forum, I suggest this one for information http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/,
yes I have experience with those also, I've helped my buddy go 11.6 @ 119 with a bone stock long block bolt on speed 3, over 400whp and it drives better then stock.... There are tuners out there that have tuned 100's of DI/Turbo'd engines for every 1 that any of the three listed have. Look a Cobb....

All I'm saying is, with time, other "good" tunes will come, and they will come on a programmer that has more options, and hold more tunes.
Right now Livernois is the best option from what I've read

Thanks for the referral, we are deep into the Ecoboost tunes and have been getting great feedback from customers using our MPT custom tunes.

i wanna get the livernois programmer but not sure what will happen with the warranty should any problems arise. i have had info to find one that comes with the new cpu already programmed and to switch it back when a problem occurs due to they can count the number of times the computer has been flashed. any info on that would be great
