yep, you had better sell the truck if you can't figure out on your own how to take the cover off.

Make sure you take pictures of doing the paint job. What kind of paint are you doing to use?

Thanks guys for being worried - but honestly, the forum is for asking question, getting help, guidance, instructions and showing off our trucks. Not suggestions for selling a truck for asking a simple question - right. Again, I would rather ask a simple question than "assume" and break the cover which is probably not cheap to replace. Anyway, I'll let you know how it turns out and take some pics. Color is undecided yet, but I'm certain it will look better than the big piece of ugly plastic under the hood. As for the kind of paint, I'll first prep with a plastic bonding agent then I'm planning on using higher temp paint that that allows some flexibility. I've done the painting of the engine cover on several cars/trucks and never had any issues with the paint holding up.

Default Removing engine cover on ECO

Step 1. Remove oil filler cap
Step 2. Grab the front of the engine cover and pull up abot 4"
Step 3. Pull towards you asuming you are at the front of the truck.

Dont forget to put the oil filler cap when putting back on.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the detailed directions......Engine cover came off in about 30 seconds! Prep work is now done and the first coat of paint just went on. Using a Red that matches the color in the FX4 decals on the side of the truck. Then plan to set all the letters with a gloss black, followed by several clear coats.....Will post pics later tonight if I get done, or in the next few days.
