Ya when it happens to me I can still hear a little boost lile as if one turbo is still working but way under power thats for shur. I took mine into the dealer but it is fine while stock and they said my turbos are fine. I can't figure out for the life of me what exactly is going on when it happens because as soon as I turn it off and then start it again my turbos sound great and full power. I use my tune from unleashed and my turbos are completely fine, now that doesn't mean I don't have one that isn't 100%.

Both times it happened when I had downpipes and the tune wasn't setup for catless pipes. The last time it happened I was hammering it hard but was a 14 psi tune. I've logged some 22psi tunes since then with no codes so I don't know. If a turbo goes then I will have a reason to put some laggy monsters on here.

Anthony at LMS said to check the intake and charge pipe as they could be leaking air. I hope this is it because that would be an easy fix

Try loading another tune and see if you have the same symptoms.

Default P0299

I just had a 4" single exit exhaust and catted down tubes installed and I got that p0299 code and also two emissions codes. Then the truck was behaving like I had no turbo power at all. I am assuming that is what is referred to as "Limp Home" mode? I checked with the SCT and I had a boost reading of 0.25 or less. My mechanic says it is due to the lack of back pressure and he also told me that I will fail the Ontario's emission's test with those down tubes. I can hear the turbo spool up, but there is no added power from them. Even clearing the codes didn't solve my issues. So I have asked my mechanic to put the stock exhaust and down tubes back on. So I will still have the Roush CAI, Full Race Intercooler, SCT x4 custom tune, 73mm throttle body, TiAL BOV and Batmo billet Turbo wheels, but will give up my exhaust gains for the sake of getting rid of the darn codes and passing emissions tests. I was hoping to have it all, but it looks like the exhaust portion is causing the problems. I will post again with the results after we go back to the stock exhaust set up. If anyone else has already been down this path, please let me know what to expect.

Are you sure that all the O2 sensors were reinstalled when the new downpipes were put on? That may be causing your emissions related codes. Maybe?

Who did your custom tune?

I once was driving and got this code (I have a code scanner). I pulled over and found the charge pipe had literally been blown off under pressure. I reconnected it back to the CAC, cleared the code and was fine.

Check all connection between the turbos and the throttle body. One leak will give you ZERO boost (if you have a tuner you should be able to see the boost level). If you have some boost but the engine is underpowered, it might be a bad turbo.

So far, with 73,000+ miles, that's the only code I've had. It's happened three times this year, all after pulling a decent hill with a hefty amount of throttle. On said climb, the engine would act sluggish and the turbos would act like they were barely there. After clearing the code (and even before clearing the code), they'd act just like normal. I have an SCT tuner with the 89 performance/towing tune from 5-Star. I might go to another tune (I have 89 eco and 89 transmission only from them on the tuner, as well) if it keeps doing that, to see if it makes a difference.
Another odd thing that happens is that the turbos make an odd sound after an upshift (when under a lot of throttle and 2-3000rpm), but I don't get a code from that.

I had a similar problem and found a broken wire at the connector for the TCBP/CACT (Turbo Charge Boost Pressure/Cold Air Charge Temperature) sensor. It is in CAC just before the intake. It is easy to check for a broken wire at the sensor connector...gently tug on each individual wire at the sensor connector. If you see the insulation stretching, you probably have a broken wire. If the wire is broken elsewhere it is harder to find. as the wire goes into a harness with other wires and goes to the PCM mounted on the firewall. Their is a very remote possibility that it is the sensor itself. However, since it you are experiencing a permanent fault it is most likely the wiring harness.
