Yeah I know there our problems with just about every brand out there, Im just more pissed that we got screwed and they sold us a tuck that has major problems from the start and was told that the manager was the only person driving it and it was well taken care of. They knew from the start there was something major wrong with it, hell only had 3000km and looks like from the paper work most of the engine was replaced already. and this was just before we bought it. well its not over yet so may be some good news soon.

Well Ford initially told me they weren't going to do anything about it but after my dealer contacted them for the second time, explaining that I had bought 8 new Ford Trucks there since 1995, not including a new Explorer that my wife bought at my behest, just three months ago, and not including multiple used cars that my mother and several friends have bought, Ford agreed to 'Review' my case. That's a lot of loyalty and a lot of business to just turn your back on. It's been over two weeks of waiting and today I was contacted just to be told that the dealer will need to give them an estimate of the repair and Ford will pay a "percentage" of the repair. But I have no clue what that is or what it will be based on. The dealer could end up being my enemy as the ball is now in their court and they can drum up whatever obnoxious price they want. It's a pathetic situation and I really had better expectations for this Ecoboost motor and for Ford's treatment of its long time, loyal customers. Things just aren't the way they used to be. And they aren't built the way they used to be, either. Better technology does not equate to better quality.

Default Blown engine?

Well my 2011 F150 EB has about 104,00 km on it. Was traveling home from camping with my family pulling the travel trailer. Was going up a hill and push down on the accelerator, the engine revved, there was a loud noise and it started to shake like crazy. I immediacy pulled over, stopped and just the truck off. You could smell engine oil and it was dripping oil from underneath. Had to get my trailer and truck towed. The truck is sitting at a ford dealer and I am waiting for there call. After much research and my own personal past problems with this e gimme I am worried it will be serous and expensive. Never have I had such issues with any of my previous vehicles. My 2004 v8 f150 had over 250,000 km when I traded it and never had a single problem.

Anyone have similar engine experience? Come on Ford if this is serious you gotta help me out. Too many issues with the first versions of this engine. Don't turn your back on loyal customers.

I take it you're out of warranty?

that's basically what happened with my truck when the engine blew. I hit the gas, loud bang, it shut off and when I got out there was oil pouring off of the skid plate.

Yup, didn't get extended warranty. I was nieve in thinking I would need one. I had good experiences with all my other Fords I ever owned. What kind of engine can only last 100,00 km, that's BS.

Update. Just spoke with the dealer. Said they need to tear the engine apart to see what the problem is. Not sounding good. I don't think I'll ever get another ford.

Sorry but you will need a new engine. Find a used salvage one and have them put it in. Unless you want to pay the 10k American for a motor.

I assume you had been driving a while and on a long trip? Have to be real careful with the condensation/oil getting blown into the motor from the ic. I never accelerate heavy if I have been driving a while without checking my ic first.

Well, just got the dreaded call. I do indeed need a new engine. 103,104 km to be exact. Dealer is going to submit an AWA to Ford, keep my fingers crossed that I don't have to pay for my truck twice. Man I've told all kinds of poeple how I love the ecoboost engine. Three of them actually bought one because of it. Well they won't be happy to hear this story

Sorry to hear that man, that really sucks, hopefully Ford will take care of you, fingers crossed for ya.
Unfortunately **** happens, this is not a real common issue with the ecoboost, unfortunate luck of the draw.
I know of a half a dozen ecoboost owners with 100k+ miles and little to no issues.
