Ecoboost owners who have had engines replaced

Damn i guess it's getting late that should have been 139,000 miles not 143,000 miles can't even add right.

Only issue with the engine in the SHO was a knock sensor. It was a known issue with the early build engines. Apparently Ford forgot the loom on the wires and they would rub and chafe causing erroneous readings. Replaced under 3/36 and no problems since. I had some transmission shifting issues with it but it was a bad part on the transmission (shift range; another known issue in those vintage 6F's) and a programming update fixed that.
For the F150 nothing under my watch other than the condensation issue back in Feb. Had the TSB done and nothing since. I did replace the plugs at 48k as a preventative measure.
I don't do anything special other than change the oil in the truck 2x a year and the Taurus when the OLM tells me to. They both get the cheapest gas I can find in Regular 87.

If you are truely that paranoid then maybe it's best to see a professional and start working on it. If you don't think that you would be able to deal with a break down away from home turf then don't put yourself in that position. No matter what you do there are risks. An acquaintance of mine's nephew,22 yrs old, went to bed and didn't wake up due to undiagnosed heart desease and pneumonia. The ultimate breakdown. Point being stuff happens and you either are prepared and have a plan or your not. In this case you had warrantee for your plan but it doesn't sound like you were prepared mentally for the breakdown.
Taking risks is part of life and living. Be Prepared (BSA slogun or motto I can't remember).

I'd only be concerned if your new engine fails in exactly the same way. Then maybe you need to look at other options... Outside of that just drive it like you did before.
As soon as I took possession of my truck from dealer I was burning down the street like I stole it. No parts feel off or broke in two weeks so I'm good for another 6 years.

thanks for the PR guys. I understand that stuff happens, I just hope it doesn't continue to happen. but I've been a paranoid wreck for as long as I can remember. I'm always expecting the worst. I'm not blaming Ford, I'm not blaming my truck specifically, I get that **** happens I'm just hoping that I don't run into problems later because he worked on my truck for two straight weeks and maybe overlooked some detail that was minor at the time but would be a bitch to take care of later. I work at Peterbilt and I've seen it happen to even the best of technicians, and as I said, I'm just paranoid. that's why I'm hoping to hear good news from others who have had engines replaced, whether it's an Ecoboost or a 5.0L or whatever else.

I should also add that if something fails I have no problem replacing it with the same thing. Just can't drive that particular one. So if my ecoboost ever popped, I would sell my truck and then buy another ecoboost F150. It's the only way I can get rid of the constantly hearing noises after a repair. And I can actually enjoy the machine again after doing that.

I totally understand where you are coming from. I am the same way, once an engine fails I lose trust in the machine. I just can't stomach driving it again. So I have always repaired the machine, then drove it to ensure things are ok, then sold it. Btw I have a jetski for sale cheap lol.

OP, hope all goes well!

Just yesterday I went to start my average Sunday in my 2013 Ecoboost, with 88k miles. I travel a lot for my job is the reason for the high mileage so soon, but I change the synthetic oil at 10,000 intervals and only use synthetic. The engine was knocking from a cold start. If you want to hear what it sounded like, click the link below to see a short youtube video I made of it. It is at the dealer today for inspection but I am most certain the engine is going to need rebuilding. They don't like rebuilding these things so they will probably tell me to buy a new one (jaw dropping). I am so stressed out right now wondering what this is going to cost me. The truck ran fine (except for the usual Ecoboost powertrain bullcrap- hard shifts and what not).

That sounds crazy loud. Do you have exhaust? If not then maybe you have a massive manifold leak?
