Default Ecoboost only---real world mileage.

I have been reading the various mileage threads which seem to get stale and spread beyond the initial topic. Can those lucky Ecoboost owners who have been driving them for awhile post some fresh actual mileage numbers??? The engines have been out long enuff I would think. And --what rear-end gear ratio are you running (seems to be important)? Some of us are thinking on Ecoboost only and would like some real world mileage numbers for the Ecoboost before putting in the order for a new truck. Many thanks to those who post.

1870 miles as of lunch today. 3.55 rear end:
• First 800-1k got 19.5ish on the highway (around 200 miles one way) Avg 77mph.
• After 1k I got up to 22.5 on the highway (around 300 miles one way); 19.5ish with wind in my face otw back. Avg. 77mph both ways.
• Total of tanks after the first fill up at dealership has averaged 17.630 according to aCar app on my android. This includes long periods of idling due to showing truck to friends and family when I first got it as well as getting on the gas pretty good some to show the giddy up off too.
• Best tank has been one where I had 447 miles when the light came on (at 40 miles left it comes on). I was tempted to drive it to empty to see if I really got 480+ miles out of the tank.

12 MPG so far - a very large improvement over the 9.5 MPG I was getting with the Ranger I traded in. 100% city driving, with every single light timed to stop every vehicle. Lots of idling. Seems to bump up into the high 20's if the cruise is on at 55 MPH, which is almost never in this city.

F-150 has 3.73 gears and the Ranger had 4.10 gears.

Got mine Tuesday before we had a big blizzard so have had some 4wd and lots of driving through snow seeing our town doesn't like to clean up the roads right away and i am half a tank gone and getting 13.0 with most town and some highway and when i'm on highway i'm doing 70-80 plus I have a heavy foot during town so I could easily see getting 15-17 in town in 2wd

I have a Lariat, 4x4, 5.5' box, 3.55 gears. No tonneau yet, but my Bakflip G2 will be getting delivered any day now.

I've had the truck for 10 days, and just rolled over 1,000 miles. With my city/highway commute, and a fair amount of time warming up, I'm getting 15mpg. Of course, that includes getting into the turbos pretty good a few times each day. On a 150 mile trip last weekend, I got 19mpg, but there were a lot of stop signs. I have no doubt that I will get upwards of 22mpg once it is broken in, and the temps warm up. The computer is off by at least 2mpg.

The truck REALLY woke up after 500miles, and it seems like there was another big jump up in performance around 950-1000 miles. It would be interesting to see if Ford has them detuned for break-in...

I came from a 2007 5.4l with the same configuration, and hadn't seen over 13mpg since November. My average was probably right around 12.5. That will sound low to people, but at -20 or -30 it's nice to let it warm up for 10-15 mins!

Just picked mine up today. Platinum, 4x4 Ecobost 3:55. Put 100 miles on it on the way home. The pic speaks for itself. I am willing to be I can get 20+MPG out of it once it breaks in and the computer gives it full power.

What gear/tire do you have seems like it's fairly high gearing.

It is the 3:55 limited slip. 20" tires what ever comes on the platinum. It actually was up to almost 19 by the time I got home.

Just to confuse everyone I just got my EcoFX4 and will monitor mileage closely. For my first 40km on the odo I got 16.5L/100km city, and my next 40km got 18L/100km scaring the sheets out of everyone test driving.
I will do a fair bit of driving the next few days and record(mpg's too) mileages. Do not know what fuel dealer supplied, pure or 10%eth.

That's interesting , I have 18" wheels with a 3.55 and at those RPM's I am at 65. I wonder if you where off the throttle when you snapped that or if Ford is not matching up tire diameter on different wheel/tire options?
Not 65 but you can see the difference;
