Go a few threads down and I posted today about me having a oil change done on my EB and they used a 820s! I asked what the heck and they have a service document saying to make the switch. We put the filters side by side and they match. Since the 5.0 and the 3.5 came with the 500s the 820 should work for you too. Call your dealer I'd like to know what they tell you. I called the ford hotline today they told me to use the 500s and the dealer has a print off to use the 820s! Well o have the 820 on her right now!

Not sure on the 5.0 but I have been on the horn today with ford and they told me noway at all should the 820s be on my EB. That my dealer is in the wrong. I am working on a refund and going to another dealer. Do your homework on this. Best of luck

I must have opened a can of worms because I called the CRC line today and I think I had about 6 different calls from the dealership today. All I know Is the last call was from the service director that runs all 5 service dept he spoke with a ford engineer this afternoon who said the 820s would work but recommended the 500s. No reason was given to me but I did not care for "it would work" statement. I just want the 500s back on it at this point. They are doing a new oil change in the a.m.

Question: does having a "small" filter really make that much of a difference? My Mazdaspeed 3 had oil changes between 4.5 -5k miles and the cartridge filter for it was small as well.
Didn't appear to make a difference at all.
