Here's mine making the start up noise. I took it in to the dealer and showed him the video.

They are doing the 15-0131 TSB. Well, I wish they were doing it. Seems there's problems getting all the parts in to do the job. Been two weeks and still waiting for the parts.

I have a different noise. It sounds like mine might be the vacuum pump. It's not just at startup either, I drove across a muddy field in 4x4 high with differential locked and when I got to the gate I went to 2WD and unlocked and while I was opening the gate I heard it too.

Sound comes from passenger side behind radiator and rather low.

Is that the vacuum pump area?

13's went to a mechanical pump didn't they, mounted on top of passenger side? On the 11's the vac pump is behind the drivers side headlight

If it is in fact the pump, and you have a 2011-2012 with the pump behind the headlight, Ford just issued an extended service window / recall on that pump and will replace it for 10 years or 150k miles.

If you suspect it is an issue, take it in and have it tested.
