The AC cycles even when it isn't turned on. Not as much as when it's on, bit it cycles to keep refrigerant circulated on a regular basis. Which could explain the minor difference with and without AC on.

Drove the truck again today and mileage seems back to normal. Its 10 degrees cooler (93 instead of over 103) or it could be that the truck has went back to its normal tuning vs towing


I did check the display center and the only thing to change for when you are towing is the calculation for "distance to empty". I changed it a few times while driving today unloaded and neither the mpg or the dte changed. I will try it next time I tow but I don't think that was my issue.
