He is NOT saying that the first ten minutes of any trip gives you the best fuel economy. He is saying that it takes about 10 minutes for the truck engine to warm up enough to run efficiently. If your drive to work is less than 10 minutes you will never see maximum fuel economy. These ecoboosts are nearly as bad as the 6.0 and 6.7 diesels that I have owned about getting sorry fuel economy until they have warmed up.

Plan your shopping trips or errands so that you are making multiple stops while the engine is warm.

Weight reduction!

I removed that obnoxious bed, heavy pleather seats, useless airbags, cumbersome seatbelts, and worthless stereo.

Truck gets about 5 mpg more than before and no one asks me for rides anymore. It's a win win situation.
